Kool Keith on the DRUM Show

Kool Keith was a good friend of Kut Masta Kurt and came through the DRUM show quite often. This was the first time I heard him freestyle on the DRUM show. All of the top of the head. Holy Shit was the first thing to come out of my mouth. Kool Keith destroys the mic on this track. And Kool Keith rounds out my top 5 MC's of all time. Enjoy!

  1. Hey, very nice blog here! True gems here, even a Steve Coleman & Metrics (I love their Way of the Cipher live album - was there ever anything like that before or after?) freestyle - good shit!
Honestly I don't know much about radio shows - but this KZSU / DRUM show must have been legendary. Can you drop a little history on that show? From what time are these freestyles?
I also would love to dl this Kool Keith here and the Eminem Planet Asia Akinyele joint - what a combo! Must be from around '97, '98, right?

  2. Yo man, the history of the DRUM show is on my very first post. Kevvy Kev is a legend and ruled the underground Hip-Hop College Radio on the West Coast. The East Coast had Stretch and Bobbito. We had Kev and the DRUM Show.

I got 2 more parts of the Steve Coleman and the Metrics I am going to post. Become a follower of my site and it will notify you when I post stuff up.

I will get that Kool Keith up for you when I can. Stay Tuned.
