Starting in early 2011, Hibagọn has taken shape from late-night improvised jam sessions. The band decided to remain a two-piece act to focus on the most powerful sounding impact they could get with the simplicity of two instruments: no singers and no bass, keyboards or whatever players have been mistreated.
"First off I must start by saying that for a band that is so minimalistic they sure have a penchant for long album titles as indicated on their most current release. One in which they probably won the longest album title award for last year. This domineering 7-song album by Italian 2-piece Hibagon may go down as one of the most insane and unique bands you will probably hear. The impact from this "band" is extremely powerful as the band places it's sole focus on creating the most thundering and raucous sounds they can emit from their two instruments: drums and guitar. Dabbling in everything from crushing metal to progressive psychedelic funkouts, Hibigon keeps you guessing as to what is lurking on the next song. Truly an aural delight, one of which I think I will have to hit repeat. R.I.P. Adam Yauch AKA MCA
Adam Yauch, one-third of the pioneering hip-hop group the Beastie Boys, has died at the age of 47 from Cancer. Yauch co-founded the Beastie Boys with Mike "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz in 1979. The band started off as a hardcore punk group, but soon began experimenting with hip-hop. The band broke huge with their first proper album, Licensed to Ill, in 1986; it was the biggest-selling rap album of the decade and the first to reach Number One on the Billboard chart. Further albums Paul's Boutique, Check Your Head and Ill Communication cemented the Beasties as a true superstar act.

I went and saw The Melvins with Unsane last night at The Blank Room in San Jose. JESUS CHRIST that show was fucking sick. The Melvins fucking KILLED it. The Melvins are one of those bands that sound OK on vinyl, but to see them live is a whole different experience. Enjoy!

When Unsane bassist Dave Curran started writing songs on guitar with drummer Jim Paradise (Player's Club, Freshkills, Hellno) the name they tossed out for their fledgling project was simple: PIGS. "We figured it was short enough that press and promoters couldn't fuck it up." Producer Andrew Schneider (Cave In, Converge, Made Out of Babies, Unsane, Keelhaul) was invited to fill-in on bass for a couple of shows and, much to their delight, has refused to leave.

R.I.P. Stinkweed
April 3rd, 2012 was a very sad day for many of us. We lost a dear friend. Kindred McCune AKA Stinkweed. He was a super talented musician who used his talents to help form some of MY favorite bands of all time. Plutocracy, No Le$$, Go Like This, Shadow People, etc. He always greeted us with a smile and a hug. Always happy to see you. I have many memories of the guy and it is just a terrible tragedy. The guy was one of the coolest cats I have ever met.
Kindred, you will never be forgotten and thoroughly missed. Rest in Peace!
